The COVID-19 pandemic brought never-before-seen levels of food insecurity, which continue today. Across Eastern Massachusetts, nearly 700,000 individuals (1 in 8) struggled to put food on the table at the onset of the pandemic. 2020 was a particularly challenging year met by disruptions in the supply chain, warranting innovative planning and finding cost-saving measures in order to purchase more food. To do my part in saving the food bank cost and time from its typical printed annual report, I proposed a first-of-its-kind digital version. And, knowing full well that more individuals were consuming digital content than ever as we all coped with a life quarantined.

Created in collaboration with third-party developers, I not only art-directed, produced creative, and project-managed the microsite, I also collaborated with various departments across the food bank to provide insights, stories, and data that were used throughout the report. Together, we captured the milestones and accomplishments in an historic moment in time.

About the videos produced for the report

Video crew in tow, I traveled throughout the state to gather visual stories describing the challenges faced by our network and the unwavering commitment we had to feed our neighbors in need during one of the most trying times in recent history.

We also took the time to produce thank you videos for all the generous donors and hardworking staff who came together to ensure that families did not go hungry during the first year of the pandemic.
